Zain Syed is a California based yoga teacher and a celebrated practitioner in the online yoga community. His fun and short demo videos on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube have inspired many around the world to explore creative and playful ways into the practice of asanas. With many years of training and influence from senior Iyengar Yoga teachers, he enjoys the detail-oriented approach to help students cultivate strength and stability. Zain credits much of his inspiration in practice and teaching skills to his mentor and friend, Carrie Owerko.  Classes and workshops with Zain are known for a dynamic blend of power, precision and play!

Since teaching his first class at San Quentin Prison, Zain served as a devoted facilitator of the Prison Yoga Project where he taught every week for over six years.  During his time of living in the Bay Area, he also taught at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, at YogaWorks studios in Marin county, as well as at local studios and gyms in the East Bay.

Prior to the covid pandemic Zain was on the road for two years and visited over 20+ countries to share practice with diverse communities in South America, Central America, Asia, and Europe.
