I passed! 🌟 This weekend I got assessed and certified as Intermediate Junior level 1 🙌 About four years back I applied to become an Introductory 1&2 level instructor and it was one of the most nerve-racking weekends (and weeks leading up to it) in my life. And this past assessment weekend was no different. It was especially more challenging as a nomad moving around.
I feel gratitude for my family’s support, for my brother who gave me a home to reside and study during my travels in and out of the USA. I feel gratitude for my mentors Carrie Owerko and Scott Hobbs for their continued guidance. I couldn’t have done this without their love and support throughout the year. I am also fortunate for the LA Iyengar Yoga community where I had the chance to study and learn from Anna DeLury. She gave me much inspiration and encouragement to believe in myself. Big shout outs to all the Angelino study buddies— I learned so much from of their feedback during our study sessions 🤓 A huge thanks to Michele Bohbot and team at Namastday Yoga for organizing the mock assessments to help me prepare this year. Also Amy Israels, manager at Iyengar Yoga Institute of LA, for recently getting me on their staff to teach there which gave me a big boost of confidence right before the exams. OH, and the lovely Chris Stein, whom upon meeting offered me access to her amazing Govinda’s Yoga studio. I spent the last week practicing and studying here in the Hare Krishna community of Culver City. 🕉 Last but certainly not least, a heartfelt thank you to my assessors Lois Steinberg, Jayne Satter, Lou Hoyt, and Garth McLean. I feel lucky to have been assessed in your presence....And yea, thanks for passing me! 🥳
