I was happy to reconnect with Ingela of Yoga Northwest in Bellingham, WA. We had originally scheduled a workshop weekend in May of this year but then the covid pandemic came and all workshops were cancelled. So we decided to host a two day virtual workshop weekend December 12-13 at 10AM-12PM PST (Los Angeles). These will be my last virtual classes of 2020!
“There is an old Sanskrit word, LÎLA, which means PLAY. Richer than our word, it means divine play, the play of creation, destruction, and re-creation, the folding and unfolding of the cosmos. LÎLA, free and deep, is both the delight and enjoyment of this moment, and the play of God. It also means love.
LÎLA maybe the simplest thing there is— spontaneous, childish, disarming. But as we grow and experience the complexities of life, it may also be the most difficult and hard-won achievement imaginable, and it’s coming to fruition as a kind of homecoming to our true selves.”
- Stephen Nachmanovitch, Free Play
In this workshop we will explore a diverse and dynamic approach to asana practice. Building awareness from the known archetypes of asana and then deconstruct our samskaras (mental impressions or psychological imprints). We will recreate a fun framework to play with stability and mobility in our daily practice. This weekend is a playground for you to explore, expand and evolve in your yoga practice. Let us refresh our practice and rejuvenate our spirit with a joyous childlike wonder!
